– Your 10-year-old son will need braces in a year.
– You take out supplementary insurance with an insurer that has a waiting period of one year. You take out this insurance before 2023 and it costs 50 euros per month.

– You do pay this year’s supplementary premium totaling 600 euros.
– In 2024 the costs for orthodontics may be claimed up to a one-time 3000 euros.

You often have to wear metal braces longer than aligners and you are limited in what you can and cannot eat and drink. For example, with metal braces, you have to be careful when eating hard things. It is recommended that you cut up a hard sandwich or an apple before eating it. Hard foods such as nuts and candy are completely discouraged with a metal brace. In addition, you should not drink carbonated beverages high in sugar with metal braces. These are quite a few restrictions for your adolescent son or daughter.
Because you can simply take off an aligner, you can keep your teeth clean. In fact, you can just brush your teeth properly. This is also a bit more difficult with a metal brace, which does not contribute to good oral health. And so we could go on and on about the advantages of an aligner over a metal brace.
